Taking on The Three Peaks

The children at our Culcheth home wanted to raise funds for a charity close their hearts and so set about taking on the three peaks on the UK to conquer! Raising money for MIND, the mental health charity, staff and children set off on their weekly expeditions. Conquering Scarfell Pike the first week, followed by Mt.Snowden and then to Ben Nevis in Scotland. Both staff and children supported each other on this once in a lifetime challenge. One child said, ‘ we are really winning, Culcheth on top!’ Another said, ‘ we climbed a mountain and loved it’.

Here at ROC we want to make care incredible, by giving opportunities to children in care that will make lifetime positive memories for them. We want to push the boundaries and restrictions of 20th Century childcare and let children take manageable risks! If they want to climb a mountain then we will let them. Welcome to the 21st Century of childcare!
